Bulkhead – Sea Docks

  • Performed restoration and preservation work on bulkhead surfaces exhibiting heavy corrosion and rust accumulation. The work scope included mechanical surface preparation using blasting methods, pneumatic air tools, including needle guns and chipping equipment, to remove loose scale, rust, deteriorated coatings, and surface contaminants. Following mechanical cleaning, all prepared surfaces to remove dust, oils, and residual contaminants.
  • A saltwater treatment solution and approved rust-inhibiting chemical is then applied to stabilize and contain any remaining corrosion within inaccessible surface pits. Once the treated surfaces were properly prepared and cured, a protective coating system was applied consisting of primer as the base coat, followed by black topcoat (or project-specified equivalent) to provide long-term corrosion protection and durability in a marine environment.
  • All work is performed in accordance with applicable surface preparation, coating application, and marine maintenance standards to extend the life of the bulkhead structure and prevent further corrosion-related deterioration.
